A major focus of my work is the continued development of the Netherlands Neurogenomics Database (NND), a platform that brings together deeply characterized human brain donor data from the Netherlands Brain Bank. By integrating clinical information, neuropathology, genetics, and other molecular data, the NND allows researchers to explore complex datasets and identify patterns across neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders.
Building on this foundation, one of my main responsibilities within iCNS is the development of a tissue-tracking system that enables complete traceability of human-derived materials throughout the consortium. The system follows each sample from the original tissue block, through laboratory processing and analyses, to the resulting data, while maintaining links to the associated clinical, neuropathological, and molecular information stored in the NND.
My second main responsibility is the development of a data-sharing platform that connects data generated from these tissues back to their source material and makes these datasets available to consortium members. Together, these platforms provide an integrated infrastructure that links biological samples, experimental data, and the rich donor information available through the NND.
Alongside these responsibilities, I contribute to a variety of other projects within iCNS, where I provide technical support, develop computational solutions, and perform data analyses to support the consortium's research.
