The Institute for Chemical Neurosciences (iCNS) values privacy. This privacy statement explains what personal data iCNS collects, how it is processed, and for what purpose.

Personal Data We Process

iCNS processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide it to us yourself. Below is an overview of the personal data that we may process:

  • First and last name
  • Email address

Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

iCNS processes your personal data to contact you by phone or email if necessary to carry out our services.

Retention Period of Your Personal Data

Personal data is generally not kept longer than necessary to fulfill the purpose for which the data was collected. Personal data in documents that fall under the Dutch Archiving Act 1995 will be stored according to the requirements of this law. In cases where archiving is for public interest, scientific or historical research, or statistical purposes, personal data may be stored for a longer period. If this is the case, iCNS will take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your rights in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Disclosure to Third Parties

iCNS only shares personal data with third parties when necessary to perform our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.

Cookies

iCNS only uses technical and functional cookies and analytical cookies that do not infringe upon your privacy. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet, or smartphone upon your first visit to the website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical operation of the website and your user convenience. They ensure the website works properly and, for example, remember your preferences. We may also use them to optimize our website. You can opt out of cookies by setting your browser to not store cookies. Additionally, you can delete any previously stored information via your browser settings.

Access, Modify, or Delete Your Data

You have the right to view, correct, or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing or object to the processing of your personal data by iCNS, and you have the right to data portability. This means you can request that we send the personal data we hold about you in a computer file to you or another organization you specify. You can submit a request to access, correct, delete, transfer your personal data, or to withdraw your consent or object to the processing of your personal data by emailing contact@icns.nl. To ensure the request is made by you, we ask you to include a copy of your ID with the request. Please black out your photo, MRZ (machine-readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number, and Social Security Number (BSN) to protect your privacy. We will respond as soon as possible, but within four weeks, to your request. iCNS also wishes to inform you that you have the right to file a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
