Neuropsychiatric disorders are highly prevalent and the molecular mechanism underlying the symptoms is poorly understood.
My PhD involves the development of chemical tools for visualization, modulation and quantification of proteins in the endocannabinoid system with a focus on Monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL). I develop MAGL degraders, inhibitors and chemical probes to ultimately quantify and manipulate MAGL activity in disease mouse models. This will provide a better understanding of acute function of the endocannabinoids system in relation to neuropsychiatric diseases.
