8 June 2026
On behalf of the Institute for Chemical Neuroscience, Prof. Dr. Inge Huitinga, Dr. Inge Holtman, and Prof. Dr. Lot de Witte attended the Conference on Brain Banking and Data Science in Hangzhou, China. The conference brought together experts in brain banking, neuroscience, and data science to exchange knowledge and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
The meeting built on the long-standing relationship between the Dutch and Chinese brain banking communities. Collaboration between the Netherlands Brain Bank and the Hangzhou Brain Bank dates back nearly three decades, when Dick Swaab first visited Hangzhou. Since then, the Hangzhou Brain Bank has adopted several protocols and procedures developed by the Netherlands Brain Bank, reflecting a strong and enduring international partnership in the field of brain banking.
During the conference, the latest developments in brain banking, neurodegenerative diseases, and data integration were discussed.
