Dr. Inge Holtman
I am a computational biologist and neurogenomics researcher specializing in data science and machine learning, and a research group leader at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). My research focuses on understanding the biological heterogeneity of psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders by integrating genetics, multi-omics, neuropathology, and clinical data.
My group develops and applies computational approaches, including machine learning, large language models, and digital pathology, to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying brain disorders. Within iCNS, I co-lead Work Package 3 together with Ahmed Mahfouz, focusing on multimodal data integration and target identification using the Netherlands Neurogenomics Database (NND).
Our aim is to connect molecular alterations in the brain with clinical and neuropathological characteristics, improving our understanding of disease mechanisms and identifying potential therapeutic targets.
